About KYSO
The Cyprus Chess Federation (Κυπριακή Σκακιστική Ομοσπονδία) is the official governing body for chess in Cyprus, founded in 1974.
Our mission
To develop chess across the island — from school programmes to national teams — and to represent Cyprus on the international stage.
What we do
KYSO was founded with the aim of enriching the culture of chess throughout the island. Today we run national championships, support local clubs and represent Cyprus at the Chess Olympiad and European competitions.
Affiliations
KYSO is a member of FIDE (World Chess Federation), the European Chess Union and the Cyprus Sports Organisation.
