About the federation

The life of chess in Cyprus.

KYSO was founded with the aim of enriching the culture of chess throughout the island. Today we run national championships, support local clubs and represent Cyprus at the Chess Olympiad and European competitions.

National Team

Our national team, with 5 excellent players, competes internationally in events such as the Chess Olympiads, and proudly represents Cyprus in the Small States Olympiads of Europe.

Women's Team

Women's Team

As of 2022, Cyprus has developed a successful women's national team, consisting of five outstanding players. The team successfully participated in the last Chess Olympiad in Chennai.

We are back in full force this year (2023) with the K-16 National Team! At the U-16 Chess Olympiad in the Netherlands, the four players impressed us and prove that they are rising chess stars!
